ABOUT THE ARTIST
My discovery and excitement in digital photography and watercolor painting continue. I am a Pilipino-American, born in Manila, Philippines, and now residing in Antioch, California. I retired from work in 2003. Photography, travel and watercolor paintings are my hobbies. Architectural illustration is an old love and I still do it. Personal photos are more than images. Every pictures and artworks are part of my memories and becomes more important over time.
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." - St. Augustine.
Going to all these different places, you want to capture it in a lovely and artistic way possible. There is nothing worse than returning from a trip and sifting through photos to realize none of them represent what you saw. I may not get all the landmarks in my travels but using my camera, drawing and painting certain places make it crystal clear in my memories through the years.
My aim for this website is to share my photos and watercolor paintings. In sharing, I want the viewers to enjoy and learn something of the places I have visited.
Entering competitions are ways to maintain a level of drive in my chosen hobbies. Winning cash and supplies are secondary. The themes and category titles provide the push to get going. Winning might be the ultimate aim, I got just as much value from taking part. Every competition leads to a progress of some sort.
In addition to my works shown here you may buy originals and prints of my paintings and photographs at Fine Art America and SaatchiOnline. You may also preview my five published books at Blurb.com
My website is crammed full of memories. I hope you enjoy it.
