These are pictures of domestic river houses, accessory water structures and beach houses of average and poor people in the Philippines. The photos were taken n Bohol, Batangas, Navotas and Malabon. I intend to add more to this gallery in the future.

andresalvador > This fisherman's home is composed of three structures. The blue structure with the plywood siding is the sleeping area of the family. The structure at the center is their rest/living area. The structure on the left with green latticed wood siding is the kitchen and eating area. This was taken at Calyo River, Calayo, Batangas.

andresalvador > This is a closer look at the kitchen and dining area of photo no.1.

andresalvador > This photo shows two fishermen's houses at the same Calayo River, Calayo, Batangas. The bigger house on the left has the living area, eating and kitchen area in fron. The bedrooms are at the back ith an outback structure way at the back. The structure with a concrete block wall is a storage area for the fishing gears and suplies.

andresalvador > This house is pushed more towards the back near the foot of the hill. It is owned by a fisherman and it is along the Calayo River.

andresalvador > The house on the right has walls of bamboo slat siding including the window. The thatch roof is reinforced by placing bamboo strips at 8 inches on center on top. The newer house on the left hand side is of the same construction but using corrgated galvanized iron for roofing. This is at Calayo River, Btangas.

andresalvador > Paddling along on Calayo River, my niece Tricia doing the paddling while I do the photo-shoot. The nose of our yellow kayak is visible on the left of the picture.

andresalvador > The husband the fisherman is out but the wife has done her laundry and the clothes are out to dry on the line.

andresalvador > This beach house is not actually supported by the tree just braced by it against the lateral wind forces. The second floor contains the bedroom and toilet. The living area and dining is done on the ground. This is just a cottage that they rent out to vacationers. The photo was taken at La Iya Beach. It is at the south-eastern part of Batangas Province near Lucena, Quezon.

andresalvador > This good looking riverhouse is in Loboc River, Bohol Province. The house is made of bammboo siding and thatch roof, but the roof has been trimmed with wood and metal at the edges. This family keeps pigs and chicken in the fenced ground level of the house. On the left hand side of the second floor is a covered deck that acts as the living room of the house.
