CON PHUNG ISLAND, MEKONG DELTA, VIETNAM : The Con Phung Island (Phoenix Island) is part of Ben Tre Province and is across the Mekong River from My Tho. This island used to be a commune for the "Coconut Monk" (Ong Dao Dua). It is an island with lots of natural canals, Vietnamese cottage industries, snake farm, coconuts and water palms. In this island I was able to go and peek inside the Vietnamese homes, tasted coconut candies and drink tea made from honey bees. Please not that some pictures are not that sharp because I am taking it from a moving boat.

MY THO, MEKONG DELTA, VIETNAM : My Tho is only 75 kms.south of Ho Chi Min City. It is a river city being right beside the Mekong River in the vast Mekong Delta. The images you see here are just a few of the images taken before we reached downtown My Tho. It is a rest area in a park like setting. The restaurant here serves excellent food. There is no name to the place. They just call it a rest area.

A separate gallery is shown for the NOTRE DAME CHURCH in Ho Chi Min City
