There is something I like about the raw unfinished work of Carlito Ortega that are on display in his workshop. The honest and open way how the sculpture is constructed, with all joints fully shown, the bare color of metals, and the discoloration caused by the welding is very attractive. It makes those unfinished work brutally honest. It is interesting to see it displayed out in the elements and watch the art works change in colors. and how it age with the years. Somehow his works brings to my mind the paintings of Chabet, Malang and Olmedo.
Carlito, thank you for a wonderful morning experience and a good morning merienda.
